Three Collaborative Pop-Up Books

Three handmade pop-up books, each created with a different visual artist. Two copies of each book will be made: one for the collaborator and one for Minor Ventures Limited.

Over several months, this project explores the intersection of illustration, storytelling, sculpture, and paper engineering. Each collaboration begins with an open conversation; no themes are predetermined, and story and tone emerge together.

The collaborator shapes the visual language through illustration, while Minor Ventures Limited designs and builds the pop-up mechanisms, prototypes structures, and assembles the final works.

Pop-up books here are treated as expressive sculptural objects. Prototyping and mechanism studies are preserved as part of the record and will be shown alongside the final books.

A public exhibition will present the three books with selected prototypes, sketches, and mechanism studies. A digital project page will document photos and process notes for those who cannot attend in person.

This project brings together the broader practice across physical materials—paper engineering, craft, and small-scale sculpture—showing how structure and narrative meet.
